Yes.

Christianity is a central part of Satellites. Satellites is designed to inspire young people to live with God at the centre of their lives.

There are opportunities for young people to explore the Bible, Christian teaching, prayer and worship, as well as large group gatherings where thousands of young people come together.

However, you do not have to be a Christian to attend.

Young people can come along whether they have been involved in church for years, have questions about Christianity, or have never been to church before.

The programme is aimed at all stages of faith and none.

There is no expectation that a young person will already know anything about Christianity.

That's absolutely fine.

One of the great things about Satellites is that young people have the opportunity to explore, listen and ask questions.

There are different ways of engaging with the Christian content throughout the week. For example, the morning programme gives young people a choice of creative and reflective ways to explore the Bible, while the evening main sessions provide an opportunity to go deeper into questions of faith.

At Satellites, young people can choose whether to go deeper into faith during the evening sessions, and there is no pressure to respond.

You don't have to agree with Christianity to come to Satellites.

There's a huge variety of things happening throughout the day.

☀️ Mornings

The day includes opportunities to explore the Bible through talks, discussion, creativity and reflection.

There is also a large main gathering involving music, worship, teaching and thousands of young people coming together.

🎨 Afternoons

This is when young people have lots of opportunities to choose what they want to do.

There are:

• Sports and activities

• Arts and creative activities

• Cafés and places to hang out

• Discussions about faith and real-life issues

• Opportunities to meet other young people

• Spaces to relax and spend time with friends

Satellites also have sessions around subjects such as mental health and other issues relevant to young people.

🎵 Evenings

The main evening sessions are a central part of the festival, combining music, worship and teaching.

Afterwards, there are late-night activities, music and entertainment — giving young people plenty of opportunities to spend time with their friends and meet new people.

Satellites is a camping festival, so our group will camp together at the event.

Forest Gate will organise transport, food, but NOT camping equipment, your young person will need to bring a tent!

We'll provide parents and young people with full information about our arrangements, what to bring and what to expect before we go.

Young people don't attend Satellites independently. Everyone attending must be part of a youth group or organised group.

Forest Gate Church will attend with a team of adult leaders who will be responsible for our group during the event.

This year, the Forest Gate group is led by Dan, our youth pastor, and Kathy, our kids pastor and DSL.

Youthscape's terms and conditions state that the group leader is responsible for the care and behaviour of their group during the event, including following site rules and curfews. Every adult onsite for the festival will have a DBS check.

You need to book an event ticket through Youthscape, the organisers of Satellites, using the link below. The additional £50 covers all food during the festival and transport arranged by Forest Gate Church, and is payable before we leave (details to be confirmed.)
